OMRIE GOLLEY THREATENING ELDERS OF THE APC POLITICAL PARTY

Omrie Golley, a British national and lawyer, has been a figure of controversy in Sierra Leone’s politics. He was a member and spokesman of the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) during the country’s civil war. In 2006, he was charged with treason by the SLPP government but was later released by the APC government in November 2007 and appointed as Ambassador to South Korea.

Golley’s association with the RUF has raised questions about his loyalty and affiliations. During his 2006 court trial, he stated he came to Sierra Leone to form his own political party, sparking debate about when he became an APC member.

However, some sources indicate Golley has been an APC member since the 1995, supporting the party financially and demonstrating loyalty even in difficult times. His father, Late Honourable Justice Omrie Golley Sr., was a renowned lawyer and colleague of APC stalwarts like C.A. Kamara-Taylor and Abdulai O. Conteh.

Golley’s recent actions have been criticized, particularly his threats against former Vice President Alhaji Samuel Sam Sumana and other APC elders. This has led many to question his true affiliations and whether he’s an APC member or still tied to the RUF.
